SWIM COURSE INFO.
The swim will take place at
RainbowLake Campground
, located just south of Rexburg off of Hwy 20. Rainbow Lake is Private Property and will only be accessible on race day. No training is allowed on the lake before race day.
Wet-suits
Highly reccomended but not required. Water tempuratures range around 67-73 degrees.
Parking
Free parking will be available inside the Rainbow Lake property, north of the lake. There will be no parking on the road.
Start/Entrance
Athletes enter the water at the North-east corner of the lake to start. The start is in-water.
Swimming
Athletes are to swim the outer rim of the lake between the shore and the buoys in a clock-wise direction. The one mile swim will be completed by swimming one and one quarter times around the lake. Athletes will exit the lake on the South-east corner.
Aid Stations
Paramedics and volunteers will be stationed in the middle of the lake to help out any athlete in distress.
Port-a-Potties
Located near the parking inside the Rainbow Lake area.
Things Not Allowed on Course
Personal support vehicles/swimmers; motorized and non-motorized floatation devices; foot or hand fins.
Shutdown of Course
The full race course will be shut down after 12 Noon of the race start. Athletes still racing by this time will need to run on sidewalks and obey all traffic laws in order to finish the race.
BIKE COURSE INFO.
The biking portion of the race will start at the North-east corner of Rainbow Lake. It will take the racers along the Rexburg Bench through the farming lands and finish at the Madison High School. Athletes will experience big climbs, city and country roads, and scenic vistas.
Bikes
Any single-person, man-powered bicycle is allowed. Road bikes are highly recommended.
Start/Entrance
Athletes will leave the T1 area and take a right turn onto the road. Bikes are not to be mounted inside the transition area, mount bikes on the road.
On the Road
Racers will start at an elevation of 4800ft. About half way into the bike portion, racers will be at an elevation of 5,200ft. The course will then drop back down to 4,800ft. Be prepared to gain 300ft. in one mile, and then drop 400ft. in seven to eight miles.
Please use caution when crossing the three railroad crossings, also while taking a sudden left turn after cruising downhill for four miles.
Aid Stations
There will be no water or food stations on the bike course. Athletes must provide their own water and food during the bike portion of the race.
A motorcycle will guide the lead bike to assure safety. Paramedics, bike techs, and volunteers will be stationed throughout the course to help out any athlete in distress.
Port-a-Potties
No port-a-potties will be available throughout the course. Be sure to use the ones in the transitions areas.

RUN COURSE INFO.
The running portion of the race will start and finish at the Madison High School Football Staduim. Runners will experience a variety of neighborhoods, trails, farmland, and race track. A good portion of the race is on a challenging dirt trail, through the eastern Idaho potato farms.
Start/Entrance
Athletes will leave the T2 area following cones and directional signs throughout the course.
On Foot
Racers will start at an elevation of 4800ft. About half way into the run portion, racers will be at an elevation of 5,200ft. The course will then drop back down to 4,800ft.
A majority of the race will be on dirt trails. Be prepared for dirt and possible mud; along with uphill and downhill terrain.
Aid Stations
There will be two water and fruit stations throughout the run course.
Paramedics and volunteers will be stationed throughout the course to help out any athlete in distress.
Port-a-Potties
No port-a-potties will be available throughout the course. Be sure to use the ones in the transitions areas.
Things Not Allowed on Course
Personal support vehicles; music devices with headphones; baby strollers; skateboards; scooters; rollerblades.

TEAMS
Relay teams may be made up of two or three athletes. There are three legs in the relay race: swim, bike, and run.
The timing chip has to be passed off to each team member inside the transition areas.
The transitions between team members will happen inside the transition areas
